Symposium “Translational NeuroTechnology for Vision in Real Life: from Light to Sight”
Comment intégrer les découvertes scientifiques à la pratique clinique? Organisé en paires de chercheur-se et clinicien-ne, le symposium “from Light to Sight” répond à cette question en abordant les découvertes pionnières en neuro-ophtalmologie et science de la vision, en repoussant les frontières tant de la recherche scientifique que de son application clinique. De la recherche fondamentale à une perspective systémique, les thèmes du symposium abordent progressivement la neurobiologie de la vision, vers les interactions entre les yeux et le cerveau, puis les réseaux cérébraux du contrôle visuo-moteur, jusqu’au déplacement spatial en situation réelle. Afin de valoriser le rôle clé des étudiant-e-s dans le développement scientifique et clinique, la dernière partie du symposium sera consacrée à l’attribution du Prix du-de la Jeune Chercheur-se.

Prix du- de la Jeune Chercheur-se
Les étudiant-e-s PhD et en Master sont encouragé-e-s à soumettre un extrait de leur recherche (max 250 mots, en anglais) afin de participer au Prix du-de la Jeune Chercheur-se. Seuls les étudiant-e-s inscrit-e-s au symposium peuvent participer au Prix (règlement sur www.symposium175.ch). Lors d’une première étape, les extraits seront examinés et évalués en fonction de leur impact scientifique et/ou clinique pour la neuro-ophtalmologie et science de la vision humaine. Les 10 meilleurs extraits sélectionnés pour la deuxième étape: une présentation de 3 minutes durant le symposium. Dernière étape, des expert-e-s évalueront les présentations des étudiant-e-s afin de sélectionner les 3 finalistes qui recevront chacun-e un prix selon leur classement. Symposium “Translational NeuroTechnology for Vision in Real Life: from Light to Sight”
How to translate scientific discoveries into clinical interventions? Organized in pairs of lectures by researchers and clinicians, the symposium « from Light to Sight » answers this question by tackling groundbreaking discoveries in neuro-ophthalmology and vision science, pushing the boundaries of scientific investigation and clinical application. Adopting a basic-to-systemic perspective, the symposium progressively evolves from neurobiology of vision, to eye-brain interactions, brain networks for visuo-motor control, until spatial navigation in real life. To valorize the key role of students in scientific and clinical development, the symposium will include a Young Investigator Award for the best three student presentations.

Young Investigator Award
PhD and master students are encouraged to submit abstracts for the Young Investigator Award (max 250 words, English). Only registered students are allowed to apply (see also www.symposium175.ch). In the first step, abstracts will be peer-reviewed and evaluated for scientific and/or clinical impact on neuro-ophthalmology. The top 10 abstracts/students will advance to the second step: a 3 min slide presentation during the symposium. In the final step, peer-reviewers will judge the students’ award presentations. Three students will be selected as finalists, who will be assigned to first, second, and third place. Each finalist will receive a prize according to the rank.
